Summary

As a Program Manager, you will take ownership for the full program management through a project’s life cycle including planning, developing, testing, producing and deploying new products. You will lead the execution of all assigned programs while maintaining exceptional and consistent performance within budget and in a timely manner. You will provide direct, effective communication to business leadership on assigned programs. 

Responsibilities

1) Lead cross functional team to meet customer & business expectations for performance, quality, capability, cost and timelines.

2) Responsible to drive program plan and accomplish the target metrics to organize program events according to Program Excellence Process.

3) Study of RFQ to evaluate the requirements of customers with Sales, Engineering and other key functions.

4) Interact with Engineering, Manufacturing, and all other relevant departments to define and execute Product Performance, Quality, Cost and Delivery (included prototype) plan.

5) Define and control Profitability (Price, Cost, CAPEX and R&D expense) plan with Accounting Director & Sales

6) Lead the team to identify, understand and mitigate risks to any dimension of the triple project constraint: timing, cost and quality/reliability.

7) External & internal project communication: Communicate directly with customers to align project plans and to share risk information. Escalate critical issues internally through Accountability Meetings.

8) Providing higher level management with status and decision information on assigned programs/projects. Lead project Phase Exit review.

9) Lead the Value Engineering, design change transaction and specific task force activity i.e.) launch issue, field issue resolution.

Requirements                           

• Bachelor or Master degree in Engineering, Technical, Business or related discipline from an accredited university/college or Equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years Automotive industry work experience.
• At least 2 years of group leader, supervisory, or project lead experience required.
i.e. Project management, product development, or manufacturing/quality engineering role.
• Experience in managing customer or supplier project activity for cost, time and quality
• Knowledge of basic engine related component development and the manufacturing process.
• Fluent Japanese and Business English
• Basic Business software such as Microsoft Office
•Can-do attitude, learner-first mentality with a leadership mindset
